Dear Diary - Day Minus 17 - Airline or Tour Operator?

Our holiday is booked and paid for through First Choice holidays. We have 17 days to go. Yeee Haaaa! We are flying with an airline called "Thomson" whose logo is a sort of smiley face with an incomprehensible dot that was, in all likelihood, sold in to them, at great expense, as a good idea by a graphic design 'consultancy'.

Now I understand that in these difficult economic times companies involved in leisure and tourism have to diversify. Fair enough. They can do deals with Costa Coffee and Starbucks for in flight refreshments and sell cheap perfumes and watches on board. However I am more comfortable with an airline, such as Emirates, diversifying into hotels than tour operators, such as "Thomson", diversifying into air travel. I would sooner have my sheets changed by an aeronautical engineer than my aeroplane's engines serviced by a chambermaid... Just sayin'.
